Racing At Big M!
August 4th, 2008

Tailwind held the Big M XC MTB race on Sunday, August 3rd at the Big M Ski area in the Manistee National Forest , just east of Manistee , MI. This was the 6th of 8 races in the USAC Mountain XC Series. The six mile course winds through the beautiful northern Michigan forests and includes lots of climbing, false flats and some super fast downhills.

Being so far north the race has a fairly small turnout compared to the races in the southeast Michigan area. Team Sandbag had three team members show up to race. Both John Osgood and Stan Christy grabbed the top podium spots, each placing 1st in their class. Brian Crook blew out a tire and was unable to finish. Great job guys.

Watch for Team Sandbag at both the 6/12 hours of Pando on August 16th and the Fort Custer Time Trial on the 17th .

TK Lawless Time Trial!
June 23rd, 2008

The course was just under 14 miles. There was a 10 minute downpour which was welcomed by all the racers. This made a slippery course in places but the last 6 miles were nice and fast as things started to dry out.

Congrats to Brian Crook who placed 1st in his class. Kyle Tabor made the trip up from Chicago to race in 2 classes for the day. He finished 6th in both the SS division as well as his regular age category.
